Tips for your trips. Tourist information. Official websites.
Tanzania is a country in East Africa within the African Great Lakes region. Its is probably one of the oldest known continuously inhabited areas on Earth. *Dodoma – the capital. *Dar es Salaam is certainly not at the top of the list of places to see for most visitors to Tanzania. It’s often a necessary stop on their way to Zanzibar, the northern safari circuit or home, but Dar has its charm.
The vast majority of tourists visit *Zanzibar (map) or a “northern circuit” of Serengeti National Park (wiki, map), the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (wiki, map), Tarangire National Park (wiki, map), Lake Manyara National Park (wiki, map), and *Mount Kilimanjaro (map).
In 2018, Serengeti National Park was voted the best African Safari Park following the depth study conducted by SafariBookings the largest online marketplace for African safaris. January to February: This is the best time to visit the Serengeti.
Many popular resorts and tourist attractions on Zanzibar and *Mafia Island Marine Park close during the long rains season, and many trails in the national parks are impassable during this period.
The bus is the most common way to travel around in Tanzania.

You Won’t Believe What Happened on our Tanzania Safari (Ngorongoro Crater).
Today we are venturing into the impressive Ngorongoro Crater for a safari, a collapsed volcano that once stood even higher than Kilimanjaro. Ngorongoro Crater is home to a high density of wildlife including the most dense population of lions in the world. It is also home to the rare black rhino. I wasn’t too sure what to expect for our safari but let’s just say this African safari blew my mind. Welcome to a Tanzania safari in Ngorongoro!
