BUS: Greyhound with several stops available including Flagstaff, Glendale, Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma.

TRAIN: AMTRAK | eTicketing | Interactive Map. Amtrak serves a couple of routes through Arizona. Phoenix, the principal city and capital, is not served by Amtrak trains instead the nearest station is 35 mi (56 km) south of Phoenix in the town of Maricopa and is connected to Phoenix, Tempe and Phoenix Sky Harbor  Airport by an Amtrak Thruway Shuttle.

AIRPORT: Arizona’s main entry point by air is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Located between downtown Phoenix and Tempe.

CAR: As with most western states, the easiest way to get around Arizona is via car. The federal and state highway system offers travelers easy access around Arizona whether you are driving your personal car or a rental car. America’s love affair with the automobile is legendary, so travelling the United States without a car can be difficult. Ranger Talks – Vermilion Cliffs, Plan Ahead and Prepare.

Brian Smith, a Ranger from the Bureau of Land Management, talks about the ways that visitors can plan and prepare for a safe and successful trip to Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. There are hundreds of miles of dirt roads that traverse the monument, most requiring a 4WD and high-clearance vehicle. Road conditions can also change very quickly due to weather and other elements, so it is best to research road conditions before heading out on on your trip. Watch for more information!
