Mongolia.

Tips for your trips. Tourist information. Official websites.

It’s a vast emptiness that links land and sky, and is one of the last few places on the planet where nomadic life is still a living tradition. *Ulaanbaatar, the capital and largest city, is home to about 45% of the country’s population.

*Khognokhan mountain specially protected territory (map) – A beautiful, and calm area that includes cultural sightseeing places as *Kharkhorin, The capital of the Mongolian Empire after Genghis Khan.

The ideal Mongolia travel season starts in May and hits its highest peak in July, during the Naadam holiday, and in August when the weather is most favourable for travelling.

The *Trans-Mongolian Railway is the main rail link between Mongolia and its neighbors. It begins at the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia at the town of Ulan-Ude, crosses into Mongolia, runs through Ulaanbaatar, then passes into China at Erenhot where it joins the Chinese railway system.

The main international airport is Chinggis Khaan International Airport, located approximately 20 km (12 mi) from downtown Ulaanbaatar.

JOURNEY into MONGOLIA.

I went on a solo adventure into western Mongolia with Indy Guide (indyguide.com) to explore what this amazing part of the country had to offer and visit the eagle hunters of the region, I was not disappointed. The views were on another level, especially in the Altai mountains but the Kazahk people were just extremely welcoming and open which made the experience one to remember.
