Finland

Republic of Finland is one of the world’s northernmost countries. Of world capitals, only Reykjavík lies more to the north than Helsinki. Finland has about 168,000 lakes, *Finnish Lakeland is the area with the most lakes in the country.

The main international passenger gateway is Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. There are no direct trains between Sweden or Norway and Finland. VR and Russian Railways jointly operate services between Saint Petersburg and Helsinki.
