EuroChocolate is an annual chocolate festival that takes place in Perugia, the capital of the Umbria. The festival has been held since 1993 and is one of the largest chocolate festivals in Europe.

It lasts for nine days and is located in the squares and areas of Piazza Italia (map), Piazza Della Repubblica (map), Corso Vannucci (map), Via Mazzini (map), Via Fani (map), The Terrace of the Covered Market, and Piazza IV Novembre.

EuroChocolate offers a variety of activities including chocolate art displays, experimental chocolate tastings, street performances, and chocolate sculpting. There is even an opportunity to make a chocolate day spa appointment.

No entrance fee, no queue at the ticket office, no vouchers or special pass … All you have to do is come to Perugia, the admission to the event is totally free.

For the sweet tooth, and for those who do not want to miss a taste of the most particular types of chocolate, that are present maybe just in Eurochocolate, you can buy the special Choco Card ! At a price of 6 euros, the Card will entitle the withdrawal of many gifts and tastes, as well as will allow its owners to benefit of many discounts for the whole period of the event.

Piazza Italia (map) is a good point of departure for an exploration of the city’s cultural and gastronomic traditions. During the two weekends of the festival, the Chocotram will pass every hour to connect the two main piazzas of the city with parking facilities. On board, chocolates and other treats are handed out.
